Theory
The meaning of life is to identify our gift or passion and the purpose of life is to
give it away. The runaway success story begins with the identification of our
passion, finding out what we are good at and what we enjoy doing. It is an
attempt being made by us to find out the gifts or talents bestowed upon us by the
almighty. Find out whether we are blessed with a mellifluous voice, find out
whether our emotions are finding words for poems, find out whether we can
chisel around the rock for a sculpture of excellence, finding out whether we lose
track of time cracking programming codes, find out whether we really love to
teach and guide people, find out whether we like to imagine and bring about
creativity, find out whether our heart goes out to the sick and needy with care
and compassion. Do we follow our curiosities? Have we found out our
uniqueness? Do we know about the gifts we were born with? So take some time
out and try to catch a glimpse of our true potentials, and what our inner
chambers of our heart love and like.
It is passion that causes people to stay up late and get up early. Passion gives life
all the meaning. There is no greatness without a passion to be great. Passion is
defined as a strong feeling towards something that creates the element of
enthusiasm. The more passionate we are, the more we will be emotionally
attached to getting to the result that we seek.
Story
There was rattling on the background with the train moving on the rails. But that
did not prevent us from sharing a smile and starting our small talk. The
strangeness with my co –passenger, who had crossed his seventies by my
perception, began to fade as we exchanged our introductions. Fair enough, he
asked me what I was doing and I had to be fair enough to ask what he was doing.
My question was followed by his narration. He said he was a music director and
was on his way to conduct a programme in the south. As he said the same, he
quickly held his mobile phone nearer to me to show me certain snaps and videos
of musical programmes he had conducted, probably to convince me further. With
no further queries from my end he began his story from his early childhood as to
how he developed fondness for music and songs, the fanfare for his music at
school, his first appearance on stage, how he loves playing the violin, piano and
bulbul. He spoke in length about singers and musicians who inspired him a lot. He
also told me as to how he would get lost in music, without even feeling thirst and
hunger and not even sensing the passing hours. He reminded about his concerts.
He explained about his favourite ragas and elucidated about his excellent
compositions. Putting a brake to the incessant talk, I made an interruption; to tell
him that he was growing in energy and happiness when he was speaking about
music. He replied that he was at his best when the music was on. He travels east,
west and south carrying the age. However, his love for music doesn’t make him
tired. He is not withered by anything else as he always hears the rivulet of music
flowing down his mind. His passion for music is his driving force.
