Creating Our Purpose

Theory

There is a will of God for us, but for knowing that will, we
need reason, experience, advice of others and sometimes certain circumstances
need to creep in. Once we have identified our passion, then the purpose of life is
to give it away. If we are blessed with mellifluous voice, let us turn out to be a
greater singers, enthusing ears of thousands of people. If we are creative persons,
let us bring out innovations which can ease and transform the lives of a greater
population. If we love coding so much, let us bring up an App or software which
adds value to society and business. Hope we have understood the purpose of our
life. Clearly, the purpose of life is to nurture and build up our passion and then to
give it away for the betterment of humans in general and the world at large.
However, to get a clear purpose, it is not time that we need, but what you need
are solid reasons and firm belief.

Story

Meera was the kind of person everyone admired — efficient at work, polite with
neighbours, loving at home. Yet when the nights grew silent and the noise of the
day faded, she often felt a hollowness she could not name. Her days were full, but
her heart remained strangely empty.

One Sunday afternoon, while helping her son with a school project, Meera
stumbled upon a question in his notebook: “What is the purpose of your life?” He
had scribbled in childish handwriting — “To be a good human being and help
animals.” The words were innocent, but they pierced her deeply.

She realized she had never asked herself that question. Her life was a circle of
routine — office files, grocery bills, social gatherings. Useful, yes. Necessary, yes.
But purposeful? She wasn’t sure.

That week, on her way back from work, Meera noticed a group of volunteers
distributing food near the railway station. Hungry children ran barefoot to collect
packets, their eyes shining brighter than the streetlights. On impulse, she walked
up and offered to help. One evening turned into a week, a week into a month.

Slowly, she began waiting for that one hour of giving more than all the twenty-
three hours of her day.

Her colleagues teased her, saying she was wasting time. But Meera had already
found something precious. For the first time, she felt her heart lighter, her mind
calmer. The emptiness she once feared was replaced with a quiet joy.

One night, while arranging leftover food in packets, a little girl tugged at her sari
and whispered, “Didi, I want to be like you when I grow up.” Tears blurred
Meera’s eyes. In that moment, she knew — her purpose was not just to live, but
to let others live with dignity.

From then on, Meera reshaped her life. She still worked, still managed her home,
but everything now flowed from a deeper well of meaning. Her purpose was clear
— to give away her time, love, and resources to those who had less.

Purpose doesn’t always arrive with fanfare. Sometimes, it comes as a quiet tug at
your heart, a child’s note, or a stranger’s whisper. The day Meera found hers, life
stopped being a burden of routines and became a celebration of meaning.

Take Away

1. The purpose of life is to give away our passion for the people of this planet.
2. The purpose of life should make us as well as others better and happy.
