Getting lost for a while

Theory

Getting lost means getting away from the toughness of work, getting relief from the fetters of project and target deadlines, moving away from the business of office, from the distractions of city life, from the mess of commuting, from the chores of your house and from the dizziness of your mind.  When you are overworked, when you feel restless and when you are falling trap to frustration, you need to get lost for a while.

Getting lost for a while means to take a break from all your routines, including your office, your goals and even from homely chores and city life. Getting lost is all about quitting your daily deeds for a week or so to enter a new world. This new world will give you as much freedom as you want, to breathe in fresh air and fragrance, to pump out all pressures of your vexed mind, to regain your physical strength , to rain serenity into oneself and have yourself filled to the brink with happiness.

Getting lost is not getting lost forever. But getting lost for a while is important, as it enables you to get yourself into a calm soothing environment, which in turn instil you with a lot of energy, freshness and enthusiasm to get back and do better. The getting lost must be for a period of at least 5-7 days.

Some of the ways to get lost for a while include.

  1. Going on a monsoon vacation.
  2. Going for a week long meditation programme.
  3. Visiting holy places.
  4. Enjoying treatments at  ayurvedic resorts.
  5. A stay at a hill station
  6. A voluntary work for the needy
  7. Going for trekking
  8. Joining a creativity camp

…. and  more.

Story

The British Prime Minister has named a Londoner one of the country’s outstanding volunteers by awarding her a Points of Light prize. Jenny was nominated for the award by Dot Dot Dot, a Tower Hamlets-based social enterprise which allows people who do great volunteering to live cheaply in buildings that would otherwise be empty. Since joining Dot Dot Dot in December 2013, Jenny started investing her time to various charitable causes. She is a volunteer caseworker for the International Family Tracing service at the British Red Cross, helping people to fill out tracing request forms and conducting local searches.

Your little volunteering like Jenny, will not only get you lost, but will also empower you with different perspectives and make you worth living beyond your current zone.
